COLLIDE, Part One

Orbital Operations for 4 October 2026

Hello from out here on the Thames Delta.

Bit of a different one this week. I need to buy myself some time to progress the development of this letter and get some other things done. So, for this one week, I’m suspending the usual sections and doing something I’ve wanted to do for a while. In preparation for the approaching commencement of Part 02, I am presenting the entire collected Part 01 of COLLIDE.

And if I do the other sections too, I will probably break Gmail’s email-length filters or set off alarms on other email providers!

Your weekly prep for a creative life in a weird world from Warren Ellis, an author from England who writes books and stories, graphic novels and television. Was this forwarded to you? Subscribe here for free.

Graphic novella GHOST DRIVE STATION by myself and Lordess Foudre is out on November 18.

The order code/UPC is: 70985304934000111. If you want a copy, drop a note to your local comics shop or bookstore, or stop in there, and give them that code. Nobody orders for the shelf any more, so if you want to be sure of getting a copy, tell your store this week.

THE PLANETARY COMPENDIUM is now out, from DC Comics, and there’s at least one other major reprint project in the works from them that I’m writing a large essay for right now.

OCEAN is being reissued from Image Comics on November 24.

COLLIDE: Jerome Eyquem + Warren Ellis: 01

Jerome Eyquem is an artist and writer: here are his releases on GlobalComix.

Part Two starts soon.

I keep a digital writer’s notebook and you’re invited to read over my shoulder. You can subscribe to the site to get every post by email. The current format is between one and three posts a day. Like a more condensed yet more confused version of this newsletter. You might like it.

This letter has been zapped to you via Beehiiv.

It’s Wednesday here. I’m out to see DIGGER on Friday. I will probably talk about that next week. I will talk about all the things next week. Probably. Unless I don’t. Go take some time off soon and do something good for yourself. I won’t tell anyone.
